Our History

Verado Energy is proud of its heritage. It began as a low profile oil and gas exploration company and today continues to be a top producer of natural gas while continuing to acquire and explore for additional production.

October 23, 1947

The company was formed for the purpose of oil and gas exploration and production.

August 12, 1970

Company drilled first well within the Hosston/Cotton Valley formation in the South West Tatum Field, Rusk County, Texas.

March 7, 1974

Company along with Darling-Delaware drilled its first well in the West Gilmer Field, later known as the Rosewood Field in Upshur County, Texas.

March 6, 1978

Company began drilling 9 gas units in Harrison and Rusk Counties, Texas.

January 1982

Company built a pipeline to gather and transport gas in Rosewood Field.

2008

Verado Energy ranked in the top 100 producers in the United States.

August 9, 2009

Company participates in its first Haynesville horizontal well.

2014

Company began acquiring first acreage in West Texas.

2016

Company became operator for properties acquired in the Hermleigh East field in West Texas.

January 2017

Company began drilling horizontal wells in the Cotton Valley formation in East Texas.

June 2017

Company began drilling horizontal wells in the Hermleigh East field in West Texas.
